Industries We Serve — Convenience Store Consulting Utah

ITO Management Group LLC was built out of convenience store operations. Our founder spent more than two decades in the industry, holding roles from Food Service Regional Supervisor to Director of Operations and overseeing as many as 71 stores across 7 states for six major operating companies. That is the lens we bring to every engagement, and it is why we tend to find problems that outside consultants miss.

We are based in Layton, Utah and work with operators across Davis County and the Wasatch Front, including Ogden and the Salt Lake City area.

Convenience Stores

This is our home ground. We understand the specific economics of the format: thin margins on fuel, high-shrink categories inside, food service programs that live or die on labor and waste control, and the reality that a single unreliable system can cost a full day of trading.

Where we most often help convenience operators:

Grocery and Specialty Retail

Grocery and specialty retail share the same core operational pressures as convenience: perishable loss, receiving discrepancies, shelf space that has not been re-evaluated in years, and labor models that drift out of alignment with sales. The scale differs; the discipline required does not.

Common engagements include wall-to-wall physical counts, receiving and vendor verification, assortment review, and monthly financial reporting that owners can actually use.

Multi-Location Operators

Once a business runs more than one site, consistency becomes the problem. Processes that worked when the owner could walk the floor daily stop holding. Reporting arrives late or in different formats. Each location develops its own way of doing things.

We standardize the operational core — counts, scheduling, bookkeeping, and IT — so performance can be compared across locations and problems surface early instead of at year end.

Businesses Outside Retail

The problems we solve are not exclusive to retail. Shrink, scheduling waste, unreconciled books, unreliable systems, and projects nobody has time to run show up in most operating businesses. If what is holding you back sounds like something on this page, the conversation is worth having regardless of your industry.

Why Operational Experience Matters

Most consulting engagements end with a report. Ours do not. We have run these operations ourselves, which means we stay through implementation and work alongside your team until the fix is in place. You can read more about how we work or who we are.
